About Shayna
I am an atmospheric landscape painter based in the Mid-Atlantic United States. My work is a meditation on solitude, light, and the raw power of the natural world. I pair centuries-old techniques with modern interpretation, using the richness of digital oils to capture the ephemeral moment when light meets wilderness. Each piece seeks to suspend time, inviting the viewer somewhere both profoundly personal and universal.
Technique
Over the past six years, my practice has focused on mastering atmospheric realism in digital oil painting, drawing inspiration from the powerful geometry of mountain ranges and the shifting drama of sky and water. My compositions balance contrast and luminosity, the shadow against the glow, so that light is always the main character of the piece.
Outside the Studio
When I am not in the studio, you can find me on long walks, or simply watching the light change on the horizon. I believe art can act as a visual sanctuary: a momentary escape, a space for reflection. My commitment is to create work that is not just visually compelling, but deeply rooted in the feeling of being there.
